Technological changes help solve cold cases

In today’s technology-based environment, forensic cases are fast becoming easier to crack. While impression evidence comparisons, such as tire tracks and footprints, remain largely unchanged over the last 30 years, investigators at the Chula Vista Police crime lab say the technological advances seen in DNA processing and fingerprint identification are a powerful asset.

But some people say the use of DNA is a violation of basic rights.
